Fell short? 3 scriptures to remind you that you and I fail, but there is no failure in God!

Share Sometimes, life gets hard. Though we wish it were easier at times, we accept the harsh reality and do our best to make it.

But what about when we fall short? When we don't get things right? When our doubt is stronger than our faith? When we hold a grudge instead of letting go with forgiveness?

How about when we start a venture and nearly quit because of challenges early on? When we stumble back into an emotional valley of despair when we had already walked a mile uphill and were nearing the apex of the mountain?

The point is, we fall short.

Painfully short.

Time after time.

But here's the good news: we never have to depend on ourselves to get through tough situations. We have Jesus who is always there, willing to help us get back up again. Though we may fail, there is no failure in Him!

Perhaps you need to be reminded of that today. If so, here are three scriptures.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse says that we can do all things, not in our own strength, but whose? Christ’s! Unlike our strength, Christ’s power is unwavering. When we feel weak, then we are strong (2 Corinthians 12:10), because we are not relying on our strength, but on God’s. The Lord’s might never fails, and therefore, we can lean on Him when we feel weary, knowing that it doesn’t burden Him to hold us up.

1 Chronicles 28:20 (NIV)- “David also said to Solomon his son, ‘Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.” If God has placed a dream in your heart, keep at it, even if it appears to be unfruitful. If the Lord gives you a dream, He will fulfill it. He doesn’t drop our destiny on us and then say, “Oh, well, you’re on your own.” No! He will never fail you nor forsake you; if He said it, then the promise is sure to manifest.

Philippians 4:19 (ESV)- “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” God is well-able to take care of you and ensure that your needs are met. That doesn’t mean we have everything we want and never struggle. It is our struggle that builds character in us. But, because we are His, we can be confident that Christ Jesus takes care of His own. Keep on confessing, declaring and believing, all things are possible through Him (Matthew 19:26).

Because nothing is too hard for God, we can ask Him for anything and know with absolute certainty that He will provide. Whether we need the strength to apologize, the grace to forgive, or the power to keep pushing through, we can trust that God, through Christ Jesus, will strengthen us to do His will. There is truly no failure in God.
